High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) is a refined biomarker used to detect subtle, low-grade inflammation within the body. Unlike standard CRP assays, which are primarily suited for acute and pronounced inflammatory responses. hsCRP enables the measurement of much lower concentrations of C-reactive protein, thereby providing insights into chronic and subclinical conditions. Biological RoleCRP is an acute-phase protein produced by the liver in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6.
